Burns Chevrolet to provide City of Rock Hill Athletics with new equipment, monetary contribution and instructional clinics

Rock Hill, March 4, 2015 – Burns Chevrolet is partnering with the City of Rock Hill Athletics in Rock Hill. Burns Chevrolet has joined forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide new equipment, a monetary contribution, invitations to FREE instructional clinics, and an opportunity for community members to earn additional donations for their league via a Test Drive fundraiser.

“Playing the game of baseball helps kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation and sportsmanship while bringing families and communities together to show their support. Burns Chevrolet and Chevrolet Youth Baseball are proud to participate in a sport that brings so many smiles to kids and families in Rock Hill” said Terri Boyd, for Burns Chevrolet. “Chevrolet believes that in play, there are possibilities and supports the spirit of teamwork that baseball instills in its players.”

2015 marks Chevrolet’s Youth Baseball program’s tenth year, and since its introduction has helped aid local teams, benefiting more than 3.5 million young people in communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work and play. In 2014, more than 1,600 Chevrolet dealers participated across the country.

Burns Chevrolet will present the City of Rock Hill Athletics with an equipment kit that includes useful items such as bags, batting tees, catcher’s gear, water bottles and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The sponsorship also includes youth clinics featuring current and former MLB/MiLB players and coaches, and instructors from Ripken Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

In addition, Burns Chevrolet will present a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to City of Rock HillAthletics. Sponsored leagues across the country will have the chance to earn additional funds as community members take test drives at their partnering dealership to help support the league.

On Sept. 27-29, the FLW College Fishing Series came to Rock Hill, SC for the Southeast Conference Championship. Chevrolet is a huge sponsor of the FLW and we were able to display several vehicles at the weigh-ins at the Walmart on York Road. There were also displays at Winthrop University and at the Rock Hill High School Friday night football game. Burns Chevrolet Chevy vehicles took center stage at all three locations!
