The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV: Everything You Need to Know

The new electric Chevy truck, the Silverado EV, was developed from the ground up on GM’s Ultium EV platform. It promises the same capabilities and performance you expect from the Silverado with cutting-edge technology under the hood and in the cabin.

Expected to be available for purchase in summer 2024, there will be two electric Chevy Silverado models: the RST First Edition and a WT model for fleets.

Features and Specs

As we mentioned, the Chevy Silverado EV packs the same power you’ve come to expect from the Silverado. It delivers up to 754 horsepower and over 785 lb.-ft. of torque in the available max power Wide Open Watts Mode on RST First Edition. Towing is a breeze with 10,000 pounds of max towing capacity. Steering is also made easier with the new four-wheel steer feature, providing a smaller turning radius.

The RST model gets a GM-estimated 440-mile range on a full charge, while the 4WT gets an EPA-estimated 450-mile range on a full charge. Fast charging capabilities come standard on both the WT and RST models.

New and Improved Design

The newly-designed Silverado EV takes Chevy’s expertise in the pickup truck space to the next level. The Silverado EV will be offered exclusively in Crew Cab models, providing more passenger room.

Functional flexibility is the name of the game, and the new Silverado EV delivers. Versatile features include:

• A 10’10” long bed with Multi-Flex Midgate® and pass-through, expanding your cargo space even more.
• eTrunk underhood storage, which is a lockable, weatherproof compartment. It’s roomy, providing enough space to fit a large suitcase and accessory options.
• The RST features a modular console in the cabin with a capacity of just over 7 gallons. 

Additional features include:

• Available 24-inch aluminum wheels
• Panoramic fixed glass roof in the RST model
• eTrunk under hood storage
• Aerodynamic design with modern interior and exterior lighting
• Three power outlets mounted in the cargo bed: two 120v and one 240v 
• The available GM Energy PowerShift and GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit allows your Silverado to act as backup power for your home

Technology and Innovation

The Chevy Silverado EV is full of the latest technology, including a 17-inch LCD touchscreen, an 11-inch driver instrument display, and a 14-inch driver head-up display. Hands-free start and hands-free driving on over 400,000 miles of roads in the US and Canada make each drive as convenient as possible.

All of this tech is powered by Ultifi, a Linux-based software platform that was developed by GM. Ultifi allows for frequent, rapid software updates so you’re always using the latest edition.
